Learn More About Swedish & Deep Tissue Massage
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage was developed in the early 1800s by Per Henrik Ling, a Swedish physiologist and fencing instructor. His system combined movement, anatomy, and hands-on techniques designed to promote circulation, relaxation, and overall health.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage evolved later as massage therapists and medical practitioners began applying more focused, therapeutic techniques to address chronic pain, injuries, and muscular dysfunction. It draws from Swedish massage but works at deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a gentle, flowing style of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, circular movements, and light stretching. It is designed to relax the entire body and calm the nervous system.Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage uses slower, more targeted pressure to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. The focus is on specific problem areas such as tight muscles, knots, postural imbalances, and chronic tension. -

Cautions & Considerations
Your comfort and well-being are our priority. Swedish and Deep Tissue massage are generally safe and deeply beneficial, but there are times when massage may need to be postponed or adjusted.
Massage may not be appropriate if you are experiencing fever, illness, active infection, recent surgery, blood clots, uncontrolled high blood pressure, open wounds, or certain medical conditions. Areas with bruising, inflammation, varicose veins, or skin irritation may be avoided.
Deep Tissue massage uses firmer pressure and may not be suitable if you bruise easily, take blood-thinning medications, or are experiencing acute pain. In these cases, a lighter pressure or Swedish massage may be recommended.
Please share any health concerns, medications, or changes before your session and communicate openly during your massage so your experience can be safely tailored to your needs.
Massage therapy is intended to support relaxation and overall wellness and is not a substitute for medical care. When in doubt, physician approval is encouraged.
